Naked Truth: We’re here at the 2006 Adult Entertainment Expo with Jesse Jane where she just hosted the AVN Awards.
JESSE JANE: Yes!
NT: That pretty much puts you at the top of the heap.
JESSE: Yeah, it’s pretty up there. It was an honor. I couldn’t believe it. I’m still in shock that that was my third year anniversary and I hosted the show. I’m like, oh, my God!
NT: It’s pretty spectacular. Were you nervous?
JESSE: You know what? It was so much fun. It was a good time. It was perfect. It was nothing like I thought it was going to be - it was a lot more fun!
NT: You thought it was going to be a lot of work?
JESSE: You know, I thought it was going to be. We did do a lot of preparing with our stage stuff, stage directions and everybody looking at the designers and having meetings on who were the presenters and what kind of jokes do we want to try to crack. And I thought I’d be nervous because [I thought] you could see everybody looking at you, but it’s so bright you can’t, and I’m just like, okay, whatever! (laughs)
NT: How was the after party?
JESSE: Oh, it was fun. I had a good time - we couldn’t go anywhere, though. We tried to go to the bar, and then we went and had a celebration dinner because Pirates kicked ass.
NT: Yeah, that’s right, you won - what, ten or eleven awards?
JESSE: Yeah, we won a lot of them. Janine and my scene got Best Girl/Girl, Evan Stone got Best Actor, Joone got Best Director, and we got Best DVD. We had so much fun - Janine and I hit the bar and did some shots, and then we just went and hung out in the room.
NT: Pirates did very well and I think it’s the start of a new kind of classy, upscale porn and you’re at the forefront because of the kinds of movies that you’re in. How do you feel about the idea that you’re in the vanguard of a whole new era?
JESSE: I’m very honored and proud. Because it’s slowly and surely becoming more accepted. Why? Because - everybody needs to realize it - sex sells. Beer uses it, commercials use it. For Appleby’s? I mean, every little restaurant, any little clothes line, anything uses sex to sell. Carl’s Jr.! I mean come on! So in Europe, they realize. In Europe, nudity’s on regular TV. And they realize everybody has sex, and it becomes more accepted. You know, on the classier side of porn you can see how the production values are insanely good, these are really good movies, they’re like real movies. So I’m glad to be a part of it, and I do think I also work with my image, to make sure, you know, I’m not - I’m always going to be upper class, you know what I mean? I will never put myself down, I hold myself to a high standard.

NT: What actresses do you feel paved the way for that kind of success?
JESSE: Absolutely the one and only Jenna Jameson.
NT: Is she the person you want to work with the most?
JESSE: Absolutely. She’s my role model. She’s not only just beautiful and talented and good at what she does, she’s very business-smart. She looks at this as a business - I look up to her for that, because I hate the girls who look to this as a party, and I hate the girls who try to act stupid on purpose when they actually are really smart, to make us categorized as bimbos or whatever. It’s not the case! You know, there are very beautiful women in this business that are very smart, funny, classy, and they just like to have sex and they show it, they’re not afraid to. And that’s why I pay attention to her.
NT: What was your favorite movie that you were in, out of all of them?
JESSE: Pirates.
NT: So do you have any really good stories about Pirates, anything really funny or interesting that happened to you while you were making it?

JESSE: Pirates was a lot of fun, but it was a lot of work, too. Adam and Eve and Digital Playground got together [for this movie], so we got real close. Carmen Luvana and I ended up being real good friends. We were just signed a scene together, but we actually ended up being friends. There were three-ways in hotel rooms, you know, and people were switching around and everything (laughs)
Oh, okay, here’s a funny story - so Evan Stone, Kris Slater, Carmen Luvana and I, one day we had a day off, pretty much. Not really, but we only worked for a few hours and were done at like eleven o’clock, so we were in Tampa. We did a little road trip, so we stopped at the Yankees’ little stadium, where they have their practices. Evan had a car there, and we set up the camera to take pictures, and we were making all these crazy pictures, and by the end -you know the stadiums are all on the highway where people are driving by - but at the end we were all flashing, you know the guys were flashing their dicks and we were flashing our pussies. (laughs) We’d yell "FUUUCK!" and then we’d run. And then we went to the Tampa Bay stadium, you know, where the [Buccaneers] play, and we did it there and there was a cop coming so we had to jump in the car, and we were all naked and flashing. (laughs) We set the timer on the camera, you know, it takes ten shots, and we’re like "ready, one, two..." You can see it flash every time it takes a picture - and so we posed, the sexy, the crazy, ten poses. And we got chased around a lot doing that. And then Evan wore - I can’t believe he did this, either, it was so funny - wore blue and white striped shorts, Spandex shorts, that were really tight. His balls are so big they were hanging out. And a red shirt with bright neon yellow writing that said PORN STAR, and we walked into Tampa’s international mall, and everybody recognized him. "Oh my God, it’s Evan Stone!" It was so funny...everybody noticed what he was wearing.
We had a good time; there were a lot of hookups. I kept trying to get in trouble. I’m a little daredevil, and I kept trying to jump off the boat and climb the ropes, but nobody’s allowed to. And then we’re doing this stunt, it’s supposed to be Carmen's stunt, and she’s supposed to fall out into the water from like twenty feet high on the boat, into the middle of the ocean in St. Petersburg. Well, the day before, there was a six-foot shark caught exactly where she was supposed to jump in! So it’s like three o’clock in the morning, when you can’t see, they only have one of those big lights, and she’s like "Fuck you, I’m not doing that!" and I just laughed, I was thinking "Oh, now you’re going to tell me I can’t jump off the boat?"
NT: That sounds like it was a lot of fun. Is there anything you want to do in a film that you haven’t had the chance to do yet?
JESSE: Oh, there’s a lot of things I want to do on film, just slowly but surely! Can’t let ‘em have it all at once. You’ve got to slowly put it out there to make everybody stays interested in wanting more.
NT: Who do you most want to work with that you haven’t worked with so far? Is there anybody that you’d really like to get together with onscreen?
JESSE: Yeah. (giggles) Jenna Jameson.
NT: Jenna. Yeah, you and everybody.
JESSE: (laughs) And Briana Banks.
NT: Anybody who’s not in porn? If you could have anybody who’s just a regular movie star?
JESSE: Oh, heck yeah! I’ve got a BIG list. I’d want to work with, girl-wise, Angelina Jolie, Carmen Electra, and then boys, give me Matthew McConaughey, Josh Duhamel, Paul Walker...I’ve got a big list. I like to sleep with a lot of people.
NT: What are your turn-ons, and are they different onscreen from when you’re at home? Do you like different things when you’re in front of the camera than when you’re just at home with a boyfriend?
JESSE: I like to be crazier in my personal life. I’d be crazier in the movies, but they don’t let me. They hold me back, but I’m very dominant. And I’m very limber. Any way that you can think of, I can bend that way. They only let me go at it a few times, like in Pirates with Janine. But I’m crazier. My turn-ons? I like eyes. But I’ve got Playboy [Radio] going on, and I might start doing my own line.
NT: Sounds like you’re pretty busy. Speaking of your own lines, you’ve got a line of Jesse Jane toys, right?
JESSE: Yeah, California Exotic novelties, they let me pick out my colors and designs.
NT: Did you feel like you came up with something that was extra special, that there was a need for, that there wasn’t enough of on the market?
